Lusaka Activities * Lusaka Museum (2 KM / 1.24 MI ) Kalimba is gradually becoming worth the journey. It now has quite good displays of crocodiles, snakes and chameleons, plus ponds for anglers, and drinks and snacks are available. There are plans for crazy golf and even a children’s playground. To get there, head out of town on the Great East Road, then take a left on to District Road at the Caltex station, about 1km before the Chelstone Water Tower. This heads towards the east side of Ngwerere. Follow this road, the D564, about 11km to a T-junction, turn right and park about 1km later on the right. Kalimba Reptile Park has an impressive collection of snakes, all found in the surrounding area, crocodiles, tortoises and some of the most unusual chameleons found in Africa. The park is set in a lush garden with a kids playground, putt putt course and a verandah where refreshments are served. Head out of town on the Great East Road towards the airport and turn left at the last Caltex garage before the airport turnoff. Follow the signs for about 11km. The park, which is part of a fish farm, also sells fresh frozen fish and crocodile tails, as well as a range of crocodile bags, purses, belts, etc. By jvandijk at 2006-07-28 20:53 | Visit Macha | login to post comments | previous forum topic | next forum topic
